The organization accordingly runs a whole range of programme facilities in support of socially disadvantaged and impoverished families so as to help them lead a decent life in the long term:

 

Invest in training of young people

High tech: Well-equipped computer center, where Orphans and vulnerable and abandoned children (OVC) receive free computer training in various computer levels.


1        Natural and agricultural resource management training: (Environmental education training)

2        Vocational training

3        Community development Training: foster parents, care givers and community leaders in the provision of support to OVC’s.

 

Work closely with local schools


1        Identifying of OVC’s and their needs.

2        Psycho-social support.

3        Christian counseling and character development support.

 

Offer work experience


1        After completing our training all the OVC’s are ready to take any challenge within the community.

 

Provide work placement

      2        We link our OVC’s with good standing trustworthy Vocational training companies for full time jobsa.

 

Support opportunities for young people

3        Advocating for bursaries to further their education.

 

Supplemental nutrition and food support in family units

4        Nourishment: Daily Feeding scheme for OVC’s.

 

 

Nooitgedacht Environmental / Agricultural Centre:

 

The name Nooitgedach is a German word that means; I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT’ which are self-explanatory in our case. We never thought that we would own a piece of land in our motherland Namibia. Therefore we initiated a self-help program to improve the livelihoods of our OVC community and further improve the productivity of the previously disadvantaged and marginalized farmers.

 

Programmes/Services that we are offering for productivity and sustainability of our Trust on farm Nooitgedach:

 

ACT exists to improve the lives of OVC’s in Namibia by providing basic necessities, education and monitoring skills so that they may realize their potential to become productive members of society.

 

Animal husbandry :(cattle, goats and sheep) manure (fertilizer), wool, meat, milk and pelts.

 

Crop production: Growing of vegetables, fruit trees and medicinal plants as many HIV/AIDS affected households rely more heavily on supplemental food or nutritional supplements.

 

Chicken farming: We will sustain family units and farm activities of Nooitgedacht, orphans and natural care programme with eggs, chicken meat, feathers will be used to make pillow for the project.

 

Bee keeping: Honey will be used to sustain the project and children will be taught how the honey-combs is used in making wood polishes and candles.

 

Rabbit farming Aquaculture: Meat from this project will be used to educate OVC's on the choice of healthier nutrition.

 

Wildlife farming: OVC's will be introduced to the fundamentals of running a wildlife farm, and be made aware of keeping the balance to sustain the wild animals.

 

Natural resource management:


Protect, Promote and Utilization (NRM)

Orphans, vulnerable Children and adolescents will be taught the use of medicinal plants to treat AIDS and other illnesses, and delivering HIV-AIDS awareness and care services through Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM).

 

Socio - Entertainment activities:

 

1        How to congregate, learn old stories and African folklore around a campfire.

2        God’s plan for you on earth: Life skills - Choose to wait.

3        Ama khoe - khoe Culture, Our Heritage:

4        Self- expression skill; Debate on variety between Live in City or on the farm.


Environmental education Field trips/sport;

 

1        Horse riding

2        Donkey cart game drives.

3        Game, birds and plant watch.

 

Orphans, vulnerable Children and adolescents are enjoying the love and support of Acacia educational, health, social facilities and emergency relief programmes. Many children living apart from their biological families for a variety of reasons including: parental separation, family violence and neglects, social and economic need or because they have lost their parents or primary caregiver or is in need of care and protection due to war, natural catastrophes or disease especially AIDS.
